Grammy Award Winning “King of the Blues” B.B. King to Perform at Morongo Casino Resort & Spa
Cabazon, California (January 5, 2009)— B.B. King has made a name for himself as one of the most respected and talented blues musicians and guitarists of all time, and is set to perform at Morongo Casino Resort & Spa on Sunday, April 19.
His career began at an R&B station, WDIA, where he was a disc jockey and singer, and gained the nickname “Beale Street Blues Boy”, which later was shortened to “B.B.” His career really took off the in the 1950’s when he began to release hit after hit, including “You Know I Love You”, “Woke Up This Morning”, “Sweet Little Angel”, and “Please Accept My Love”.
His other success’s include Grammy Awards, the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1987, his induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987, and being named the 3rd greatest guitarist in Rolling Stone’s “100 greatest guitarists of all time”.
These days he can be found still touring and performing with the best of them. This year alone he was inducted into the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame and was the closing act in the 51st annual Grammy Awards alongside John Mayer.
The show will be held at Morongo’s Outdoor Pavilion. Tickets go on sale January 26, and will be on available at the Morongo Box Office at 1-800-252-4499 or through Ticketmaster. All major credit cards are accepted. Showtime is at 7:00 p.m. PST.
